Cake and Ice Cream- SOUS

Another lovely Friday morning and today we have a great sketch done by Leah for SOUS! Take a look at this....

I loved the stripes in this sketch and it was just perfect to cut some borders from my Silhouette. This is Noah on his 3rd birthday! He's growing up too fast! He really wanted a digger cake for his birthday, so Chantal make him a really cute one and he just loved it.

I used the Surprise collection from Bo Bunny for this layout. It was just perfect for a little guys birthday! So full of fun color and pattern! Please stop on by the SOUS blog to check out what everyone did with this sketch and give it a try yourself!

School is Cool- SOUS

TGIF Scrappy Friends! Time for another wonderful sketch and some inspiration from SOUS! Today we have a sketch done by Nanne! I just love all the great layers on this sketch! Please stop by the blog and see what everyone has created!

In order to fit my photo on this sketch, I rotated it one turn and this is what I ended up with....

This is Renee on her very first day of Grade Seven. She started at a new school and was very excited for some new adventures. She had a really rough year in Grade Six and was so looking forward to a new beginning. This proved to be a great thing for her and so far things are going better than planned. Juniour High School is really agreeing with her!

Materials- Patterned Paper- Fancy Pants Off to School and Echo Park For the Record 2, Stickers- Fancy Pants Off To School, Buttons- from my friend Cindy, Charm and Tag-Dollar Store, Twine- The Twinery, Rulers- Rebecca Sower, Metal Stars- from my stash, Cork Tag- Creative Imaginations, Ink- Ranger Tim Holtz

Little One

I used Sketch #89 at Inspired Blueprints for this layout of Isla. This is going into her baby book. It is a photo of her in September when she was about a month old.

I dug into my stash and found these pretty old Momenta papers that I had hanging around. They were just the perfect colors to match her dress. I used my Silhouette to create a few embellishments because I didn't have many that went with this pack of paper. I cut the tags, flowers, leaves and retro border from papers in the collection and then used another border and stickers that went with the line.

Materials- Momenta Patterned Papers, Border, Stickers, Buttons, American Crafts Thickers, Brad (unknown), Authentique Sticker Phrase and Letter Stickers, Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Silhouette

Miss Islas First Halloween

I used this sketch I found at Inspired Blueprints to do a layout of Isla's first Halloween. I didn't want to use traditional Halloween papers for this layout, so I decided on using the SoHo Garden from American Crafts because of the great red and black papers in it. Here is the sketch I used. It is Sketch #91.

And here is my interpretation of it....

I had fun using some decorative tape and also made some flowers with my Silhouette. This one is going into Islas first year Baby book. She's growing so fast.

Hello Sunshine

I found a nice sketch over at My Creative Sketches and decided to give it a try! I'm working on Isla's baby book and it's coming together nicely. Here is the sketch I used....

I once again cut a background out with my Silhouette! I'm loving this machine SO much lately! It's just the handiest thing around. Instead of the banner, I strung a row of brightly colored buttons across my page. I used some great SoHo Garden papers from American Crafts and with some co-ordinating embellishments, this came together pretty quickly!

Sweet Baby Girl

I found a cute sketch at Canadian Scrapbooker. It's for the April Sketchy Challenge. I love the background pattern and I thought it would be fun to cut one out of my Silhouette.

The photos were taken at Easter. Isla had a new Spring dress and she just looked so darned cute in it.  I used some Bella Blvd papers to do this layout and I also used some great chipboard pieces from a Canadian Company called Magenta. I inked them, stamped them and then added some glitter, but it's hard to tell on the photo. They do look pretty in real and the pattern comes through slightly underneath the ink.

Materials- Patterned Paper- Bella Blvd Baby Girl, Cardstock- Bazzill, Doily and Pearls- Dollar Store, Stickers- Bella Blvd Baby Girl Minatures,  Cut Outs- Bella Blvd Cute Cuts, Chipboard Flowers- Magenta Ink- Prima ( I think....writing is too small), Glitter- Martha Stewart, Other- Silhouette

I used the Surprise Collection, which of course was just perfect for a little guy's birthday! Love the bright, bold colors  and patterns in this line!

Delightful- SOUS reveal

TGIF once again Scrappy Friends! Today we have something a little bit different at SOUS! It's a double page sketch for you!

It's been such a long time since I've attempted a double pager. Back when I first started scrapping, everything I did was basically a double page spread. I kind of lost the habit of doing that over the years, so it was somewhat of a challenge for me to do it again. Now I'm going to have to apologize for the quality of the photos. I'm still having to take my photos indoors and you just don't get that good lighting. It looks SO much better in real life. I was abit disappointed when I just couldn't get it to look right. ( I'm not big on editing, so that wasn't an option) Anyways, here it is....

This is Little Miss Isla. The photos were taken in February. I'm doing an album of her first year, so a double page spread went perfectly into this project! I had a ton of fun using my Silhouette on this layout. I tried out some flowers, cut some doilies and some arrows! I think I'm getting the hang of using it, although I'm still at the beginner stages of my learning. I also tried out some misting on the background. Most of it turned out to be under the layers! LOL! Oh well, maybe next time I'll be better planned!

Hope you can join in the fun and try out a double page spread! Yours might just be chosen in the Top 3 and showcased on the blog! Also be sure to check out what the other designers came up with. Some really great inspiration to be had!
